HISTORY.
Red
Sector Inc. (RSi)
was born on June 23rd 2003.
Reason of the new foundation was that RSi
wanted to be something different then most clans are. The
majority of clans use an organization based on hierarchy-structure,
adapted from the military. Ranks, recommendations and promotions
were the ways to "motivate" a member to get higher
on the memberladder and thus obtaining more priviliges and
importancy within the clan. History learns that eventually
this often leads to envy and powergames, leaving the clan
in a state where everybody is more busy with defending their
position and getting a step on the ladder, as opposed to playing
a game with fellow gamers and having fun.
This is where RSi steps in and
tries to make a difference.
TEAM
POLICY.
So how does RSi
see things? Pretty easy actually: it will be a team where
there will simply be no ranks. This means that every member
in RSi is equal
to all other members, at any moment. New members will be as
much as important and influencial as the guys that are in
longer.
All members will have access to everything the team has to
offer and are granted to use it.
Two main objectives are accomplished in this way:
a) since everybody has the same priviliges, there can't be
any powergames because there is simply no power to get.
b) because you are free to use all the resources available,
more news, topics, ideas, suggestions, adjustments and so
on will spring from it. This makes the team versatile and
fresh, in other words: in motion. And that's always a good
thing.
A lot of people will think right now: "yeah, right. That
is definitly leading to chaos and disorder". Not quite!
RSi is a democratic team, meaning that most discisions will
be made by the whole team by voting. So there IS some sort
of social control over how things should develop through time.
As been said before: it is a pretty daring concept but we
are certain that it will lead to glory and many hours of fun
that you will have playing with your fellow teammembers....and
that's what online gaming is all about.....
CANDIDACY.
By reading the team policy section you might be wondering
if it's possible to join RSi.
It is! There are some requirements though:
- First of all, you got to agree with the team policy as stated
above. If you believe in a clan/team that uses the military-hierarchy
structure, then simply don't bother to apply because you won't
find it in RSi.
- Don't expect to earn a "leader"-position. There
are no leaders (not in the organization anyway, there will
be leaders during a COOP-game of course) in RSi,
you will get a lot of respect from your teammembers though,
which has more value then a rank of 10 clan-generals.
- You must have: a forgiving character, lots of patience,
dedication and a good sense of how to work within a team.
Also you must be able to treat your teammembers or other players
with respect.
- You are at least 18 years of age. Sometimes an exception
on this rule can be made if you behave in a mature way.
- We are NOT looking for players with a "Rambo"
or "Gung-Ho" attitude. Agressive playing is fine
though.
- Requests
for candidacy from players already in a team will not
be considered, so don't even bother if you are in one at this
time.
- RSi is currently
renting a ranked dedicated BF2 server in order to play on. Since we do rent a server,
a monthly payment WILL be asked from you and will vary between
$10 - 15 per month depending on the amount of members the
team holds at that time.
- RSi
does NOT indorse and/or accept cheating! We play
the game as it was meant to be played: fair and square! If
you like to play with a cheat then we suggest you find a clan
somewhere else. If one of our members is caught while cheating,
he will be banned for life and his IP (or IP-range) will be
distributed amongst the online community to make sure his playingdays
are over.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO JOIN RSi ?
Most of the requirements are pretty straightforward.
Even when you are a starting player in the online scene,
it should not hold you back from applying at
RSi. Your character and attitide is more important
to us then your playingskills. We have enough skill and talented
people to show you how to play the game more clever, working
as a team and make you a better player in general.
If you think you have what it takes to be a soldier in the
enemies' red sector, then we suggest you use the bottom link
and apply for candidacy in RSi.
Please tell us a little about yourself and how much experience
you have got. Also mention your name (real and nickname),
location, age, and email-adress. We will then try to get
in contact with you as soon as possible.
We expect you to join our servers ( Teamspeak or gameserver) after that, so we get to
know you and you will get to know us.
This way we are better prepared when the descision is being
made by all members to grant you to be a candidate.
